SOS: Save Our Selves

The SOS: Empowerment Arts & Healing Symposium by AEC unlocks marginalized voices through educational workshops, preserves those voices within our newly created annual collaborative SOS: Empowerment Arts & Healing book publication, and equips Greater Cincinnati educators with books, nontraditional arts-based  curriculum to utilize throughout the year.

 

The curriculum includes instructions for close readings through a trauma informed lense, mindfulness strategies, tips for resonating with text and/or visual artwork, directions to support survivors processing trauma through art, and utilizing reflection practices. This non- therapeutic, healing services and community support system is a powerful tool to heal families resistant to traditional methods.
